Deep Work : Work's Quantity doesn't matter, The Quality does

Deep Work" by Colin Court offers insightful strategies for achieving social success in a world full of distractions. The book is divided into two parts: the first part presents the idea behind deep work, while the second part outlines practical rules to implement it. Although the initial chapters might seem dense with examples and theoretical concepts, the latter part is rich with actionable advice that can transform your productivity.

I was really impressed by "Deep Work." One of my favorite quotes from the book resonated deeply with me: "It doesn't matter whether you wake up early or sleep early. It doesn't matter whether you wake up late or sleep late. What matters is the amount of concentration and focus you put into your work while you're doing it." This concept was a revelation for me, as I often felt depressed when I couldn't wake up early. The book emphasizes that the quality of work, not the quantity, is what truly matters.

"Deep Work" motivated me significantly with its various techniques, such as how to embrace boredom, switch off social media, work deeply, and break shallow habits. These techniques are crucial for anyone looking to enhance their productivity and focus in today's distracted world.

The book is divided into two parts. The first part, which discusses the idea of deep work, felt a bit boring to me as it was filled with numerous examples related to high work and economic and social contexts. I found myself skipping chapters 2 and 3 after reading the first chapter. However, the second part, which outlines the rules for deep work, was captivating and incredibly useful. It provided practical, engaging, and effective strategies for implementing deep work into daily routines.

Overall, "Deep Work" is an insightful and motivating read, especially for those struggling to maintain focus in a world filled with distractions. The techniques presented in the book can help anyone achieve greater productivity and satisfaction in their work.

VIT Chennai: My Kick-Start Day

25th July Having my bag packed up a day earlier I placed the dress I have to wear on a table beside my bed and went to sleep with thousands of expectations and a bit of nervousness. When I went curious into my dream, my mom woke me up. I got freshed up and got ready. Me and my dad rushed to the bus stop that I didn't even take my day 1 picture. I got my bus and I'm literally not a big fan of bus travels. So I tried my best to be distracted and to sleep.  I was also sure that I have to capture the moment I was going to enter into the college. I dunno why I got emotional the day 1 I was entering into the campus. I felt like VIT is person and it's welcoming me. I tried my best to keep my tears to my eyes. I was directed to an auditorium called MG auditorium. I was early there and the first two persons I met the were Anvitha and Kamia with whom I spent the rest of the day. It was it induction day which actually refers to orientation day, just VIT or physics terms. W...
